Populus USA® is designed for users who need instant access to brief snapshots of the U.S. population based on race and ethnicity. Populus USA® brings the power of the U.S. Census Bureau data to your fingertips by providing easy access to the 2010 Census data at five levels of geography as well as the American Community Survey 2011 for areas with a population of 65,000 or higher. Users will find Populus USA® a valuable tool for understanding the race-ethnic makeup of the nations communities, especially when access to a computer is limited or when navigating the Census Bureau web site is challenging.

FEATURES:

(1) All data is derived from the most credible source of U.S. population data - the U.S. Census Bureau. The current version of Populus USA® includes selected tables from the 2010 Census and the 2011 American Community Survey.

(2) Since the American Community Survey data is updated annually, our updates will ensure that you will also have the most recent U.S. population estimates available.

(3) Selected population, economic and language data are provided from the American Community Survey 2011 for the total population and four race-ethnic groups: Whites, Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics. Population data from the Census 2010 is provided for the total population, Whites, non-Hispanic Blacks, non-Hispanic Asians, and Hispanics.

(4) The American Community Survey 2011 population and economic profiles are available for five geographic levels: U.S., 52 states and Puerto Rico, 529 metropolitan/micropolitan areas, 822 counties, and 537 cities/places. Population tables from the 2010 Census are provided for all U.S. geographic levels: the U.S., 52 states and Puerto Rico, 955 metropolitan / micropolitan areas, 3,221 counties, and 29,514 cities or places.

(5) Hispanic and Asian Profiles provide detailed information about ethnic groups and their language usage.

(5) A feature allows users to easily email the data tables for later review or printing.

(6) A user guide helps you understand the demographic terminology used in the tables.

(7) A useful links feature provides access to membership organizations of Hispanic, Black and Asian advertising agencies; web sites to obtain further demographic information; a Test of Latino Culture (TLC) to check your Latino IQ; and an 8-minute video that discusses the SERENITY™ multicultural survey response system.
